Light swirl marks from automatic car washes, light water spots, minor haze, and dull paint that has not been corrected before. On a car that has been well maintained, a single pass is usually enough to get paint looking sharp.
Deep scratches, heavy marring from years of neglect, bird dropping etching, or paint that has been machine polished incorrectly and burned through the clear coat. If the damage is deep enough to catch your fingernail, a 1-step is not going to fix it.
It depends on how much correction the paint needs. We assess the paint before quoting. If a 1-step will get you 80 to 90% of the way there, that is usually the right call. If the paint needs serious work, a 1-step is a waste of your money.
